Yvette is a Cuban-American from Miami, Florida. She is a Servant Leader and a Veterinarian whose non-profit career began straight out of high school in 2001. She completed her undergraduate degree at University of Miami in 2008. Yvette later completed her veterinary degree in the Dominican Republic in 2014.

In the Dominican Republic she was a high school teacher and project coordinator; who pioneered many environmental projects on the island including a wildlife sanctuary in Haiti. Upon graduating veterinary school, Yvette returned to the USA and found her niche in North Carolina. Here, she was administratively responsible for over 16,000 spays and neuters in Guilford County. while in the position of Clinic Director of  Operations for the Humane Society of the Piedmont’s, Planned Pethood Spay and Neuter Program.

Yvette believes in representing the underrepresented and serving the under-served. She is passionate about animals, the environment, social issues involving disadvantaged minorities, and of course, college football (GO CANES!). Yvette decided to join Pride Greensboro because the LGBTQ community has played a very important role in her life. Her dedication to the organization is one of the many ways she plans on giving back to our LGBTQ community.
